A BioChemistry major turned career recruiter, Tom has spent over a decade helping build world-class teams in deep-tech sectors, scaling early-stage startups, giving him a front-row seat to the challenges of rapid growth and innovation.

Through his career, Tom found that his passion for science, combined with his niche experience, put him in a unique position to support companies developing first-of-a-kind technologies. For the past decade, he has focused exclusively on industries solving the world’s toughest problems including Clean Technology, Aerospace, Defense, and BioTech—where access to the right people can make or break an idea.

As the recruitment industry at large has shifted toward volume-driven, less consultative, business models, Tom recognized a gap. That realization led him to found First Principle, a firm built to break the cycle of transactional recruitment and instead deliver best-in-class, high-touch service to companies pioneering the future.

A proud University of Georgia graduate (Go Dawgs!), Sabrina launched her recruitment career in New York, working in software for a major international firm. Early on, she carved out a niche in emerging battery and charging technologies, becoming a go-to expert in Battery Management Systems and Charging Algorithms— a critical nexus at the heart of several emerging markets.

After five years of agency recruitment, she made the jump in-house, joining one of America’s most successful sustainable aviation startups. As their lead recruiter, she played a lead role in building the technical function from the ground up.

This hands-on experience gave her invaluable insight—not just into hiring the best talent at record speed, but also into compensation strategy, benefits design, onboarding, and retention. Now, with First Principle, she brings that same expertise to scaling our clients teams, ensuring companies don’t just hire exceptional people but create environments where they thrive.
